You need to resign else we need to terminate you. You have one week and you can collect your documents. I was shivering and didn’t have the strength to reply to this. I came out of the office but didn’t know what to do in this case. I recently moved from the US and was not allocated to any project in India. My visa was not extended, so I needed to return to India. I anticipated this in the US. However, it is difficult to face. I started my bike and went to Gurgram Sector 14 Market. This is the same place I was living 2 years before moving to the US. I stopped at the same old cigarette shop; however, no one recognised me. I took one cigarette but felt that tears started rolling from my eyes.

I felt very weak and emotional at that point. A few months back, I was in the US and enjoying my life without anticipating recession could also harm me. Suddenly  I realized that the Cigarette shop had changed and renovated and asked the owner. He looked at me first, then said yes, you are right. Last year the shop was demolished by the Municipal department due to some unauthorised construction.

He built the shop again from scratch, and the journey was not easy for him. However, this time, he built it correctly and followed all laws.

I asked how did you manage such a situation then he said one thing, which is Girte hain sheh-sawar hi maidan-e-jung mein… · What it means is that failures are only experienced by those who try (Only riders fall from the horse)

This was a true motivation for me, and I realized my phone was switched off as I did not want any calls. I know my brothers and Mom trying to call me and console me, but to avoid this switched off the phone.

I started the phone and then saw a message from a recruiter in the mailbox. They scheduled an Interview with another IT company.

I felt that this event had happened to me, and I started my bike, went to the flat and started preparing for interviews.

During those days, I attended multiple interviews and finally got the job with a better package. I failed many interviews at that time and got success in the end.

Some friends referred me to their companies, and some suggested improving my CV. A few gave interview tips, and some passed sarcastic comments as well, but that motivated me.

My friends and family were supportive and encouraging. I learnt a lesson that it’s better to check your potential always in the outside market with your capabilities.

Someone said correctly Love your job but don’t love your company as you don’t know when they stopped loving you.
